About Me
Hi - I'm Charlotte, and "thank you" for visiting my page! For those who don't know a lot about me, I hope you enjoy:
I was born in Hertfordshire, and bought up in and around Hertford the whole of my childhood.
Educated at The University of Lincoln, and achieving a 2:1 BA(Hons) Degree in English has been one of my biggest accomplishments, and something I am proud of. Whilst at university I got stuck into my studies, but also thrived in my social settings, getting involved in all manners of activities and societies. Most of my free time was spent attending The University of Lincoln Christian Union, The English Society and getting heavily involved in Alive Church Lincoln's Student ministry.
It was here, whilst at University I truly got a taste of what I wanted to do, what I was passionate about and how these passions could become a future. Listening to a range of inspiring and devastating talks sparked a change in me, and it was the realisation that the people who live in these inescapable situations are somebody's daughter, son, brother, sister, mother or father. This broke my heart, imagining one of my family members in the place of the individual actually experiencing it - and I knew I had to do something.

My Story, My Blog
I focused my efforts on graduating and aiming to work in the Charity Sector as soon as I had done so, however this was not what happened. Instead, from September 2015 I have worked in Payroll for various nursing recruitment agencies. It wasn't the dream, but it's been a blessing. This job has resulted in me completing a 150 hour premier TEFL qualification, and having an amazing tie, to a wonderful charity: The Dust Project.
With The Dust Project, I have taken three charity trips to Sri Lanka, helped organise a Summer Ball, which raised over £10,000, visited local clubs/schools to speak, sponsored a child and lead various Social Media campaigns.
By making these connections, I have found myself being exactly where I want to be. I am ready, I am willing and I am "all in" for my next charity step with The Dust Project.
From November 1st 2017, I will be spending one year in Sri Lanka, teaching in the schools, helping with teams, and most of all, loving the communities. I can't wait!
Stay tuned, and brace yourselves, because I'm trusting it's going to be all I could imagine and more.
